Congregational Care Ministries

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.  -James 5:13

Deaconess Edith C. Fulmore

Our ministries provide spiritual welcome and support for all who enter our fellowship. We assist the Pastor and Church Leadership in maintaining close, personal relationships with every member of our church family. It is our desire to meet every physical, emotional, and spiritual challenge by providing educational events and activities that improve the health and well-being of individuals and families.

The Care Network

Bereavement Ministry
Margaree Lee, Coordinator

The Bereavement Ministry serves the families of our congregation who have lost a loved one to death. The members of the ministry successfully implement our mission to give comfort and support to grieving families by giving their time to hear the thoughts and share the tears of bereaved families. The ministry is also on hand to assist families with making the final arrangements for the funeral or memorial service upon request.
Health & Wellness Ministry
Malvenia Cox, RN, Retired, Coordinator

Health & Wellness promotes health and healing as part of the mission and ministry of the church to our members and the community we serve. The purpose of the ministry is to help the congregation care for one attain, maintain and or regain the best possible whole person health-wellness of body, mind, and spirit.
Hospitality Ministry
Gwendolyn Taylor, Coordinator

The Hospitality mission is to provide a welcoming environment of love, acceptance, comfort, support, care, and unity for visitors, members, guests, and friends in order to enhance their worship experience, encourage fellowship, and help build a community of believers.
Missionary Ministry
Claudia Dock, Coordinator

The Missionary Ministry offers evangelism, outreach, and service to our communities. The ministry actively practices Job 29:15,  “I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame;” Proverbs 31:20, “she stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy” and Isaiah 50:4, “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.”
Usher Ministry
Barbara Mitchell, Coordinator

The  Usher Ministry serves and demonstrates God's commission to us, prayerfully promotes an atmosphere where all those entering the church can feel welcome, meets the needs of the congregation during services, and keeps distractions to a minimum.
Worship Care Nursery Ministry
Valerie Serrall, Coordinator

The Worship Care Nursery is where we meet the needs of the youngest in our church family. Our time with these little ones is spent singing songs, engaging them in play, and teaching simple lessons about our Lord. This ministry allows parents to worship the Lord unencumbered.
