Visiting any church for the very first time can be a little intimidating. Where do I go? What do I wear? What time do I show up? What’s here for my kids? What can I expect?
Get to know more about what makes us different.
As you plan your visit with us, we want to put you at ease. Whether you've grown up in church, never been to church, or are coming back to church, our desire is that you feel welcomed and accepted. We value relevant biblical teaching that penetrates our hearts, renews our minds, and transforms our lives. Jesus and the life-giving power of God's grace is the talk of the town at Central. We know you'll come back again and again.
What is the Sunday morning schedule?
We worship in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. The service lasts about 75 minutes or so. Worship Care for infants and toddlers is available during the worship service time. Sunday School classes for adults, youth, and children meet from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Any of our greeters or ushers can direct you to our Worship Care Nursery, a Sunday School class, or to the Main Sanctuary where you can meditate quietly to await the start of the service.
What do I wear?
People who attend worship at The Central Baptist Church wear a variety of attire, so you will be welcome here whatever you wear.
What about parking and accessibility?
Limited reserve and handicap accessible parking for guests and members is available in front of the church on Baltimore Street and at the side entrance on Pulaski Street. On-street parking and parking on the church's back lot is available on a first come basis. Parking is also available in the Bon Secours Hospital parking garage directly across Baltimore Street. Our Safety & Security Team Ministry is always on hand to assist with parking and accessibility. Greeters and ushers are present inside the front entrance to further direct you.
