What You Should Know about Robocalls & Text Messages
Our communications technology supplier can provide both, robocalls and text messaging. Most often, we will send a robocall because of the length of the message. Text messaging only allows for messages containing 160 characters in length. All landline phones do not accept text messages. If you are unsure about whether you can receive text messages, contact your phone service provider.
We generally use text messaging to remind small groups of meeting dates and times or schedule changes. For example, we will send a text message to the deacons to say, "deacons' meeting canceled." If you opt to receive only text messages, you will likely miss most of the church's important message announcements. By opting to receive both, robocalls and text messages, you are ensuring that you receive all church notifications.
